Board Member

Dr. James Sankale's primary goal is to improve employee performance and productivity within an institution. Dr. Sankale has over 30 years of experience in the field of Education, Training and management, ranging from classroom teaching to planning, design and implementation of education programs at the County and National level. In the field of sustainable development, Dr. Sankale has mentored youth and women groups on vocational skill development geared towards gainful employment. Dr. Sankale has also empowered unskilled women through training on value addition in solid waste management and marketing. To achieve this Dr. Sankale worked with taka taka ni mali limited (TTNM) and other waste handlers.

In education sector, Dr. Sankale has played a major role in the design and implementation of the DFID funded programme “Strengthening Primary Education (SPRED), as well as Primary School Management (PRISM) Programmes and School Empowerment Programme under the ministry of Education Kenya. Dr. Sankale has work with a range of stakeholders locally and overseas, including some AKDN Programmes (EMACK and KENSIP), the University of Wolver Hampton and the Centre of Educational Leadership, Open University and the BBC in UK. Dr. Sankale has worked with UNESCO PARIS to develop a Teachers In-service programme for Pan Africa Teachers.

Team Lead - Administration

In TTNM Foundation, Diana has the following responsibility:

  • Ensure all allocated tasks are implemented and outputs achieved.
  • Ensure client relation is maintained.
  • Prepare administrative report.
  • Ensure prudent management of resources in the assignment
  • Conducting normal administrative duties to ensure daily project activities are implemented.

Team Lead - Enterprise Development

Mr Kalo is a Business Development and Innovation Specialist with over 18 years’ experience in programs related to inclusive economic growth, business mentorship and development; innovation development and implementation. He has extensive skills and experience in developing and executing livelihood programs aimed at providing capacity and knowledge both locally and internationally for programmes sponsored by UNDP, ILO, KEPSA, GIZ, USAID, DANIDA, DFID, and Government of Kenya, among others.

His professional skills and experience are in the following: Business & System Analyst; Organisational Capacity Developer; Business Development Service Provider; Business Case & Project planner; Market System Developer; Business Mentor and Business Innovation Developer.

In TTNM Foundation, Michael has the following responsibility:

  • Take lead on conducting the capacity assessment, OCA, selecting and conducting ToT to prospective trainers, and overall mentorship of the trainers.
  • Prepare inception, draft, and final reports.
  • Supervise the assignment team.
  • Prepare report findings.

Team Lead - ICT and Innovation Management

David holds a masters in Mechatronics & Robotics engineering from the University of Leeds and has experience in managing and developing software systems. He has been involved in the development of the TTNM mobile app and has experience in data analysis, process mapping. defining project delivery roadmaps and overall project management.

In TTNM Foundation, David has the following responsibility:

  • Provide overall ICT management of project
  • Ensure technology platform that connect stakeholders in waste management ecosystem is implemented optimally according to client’s specification
  • Ensure prudent management of resources in the assignment.

Board Member

Dr Margaret Makelo is a senior agricultural research scientist and has been working with the government of Kenya for 27 years. The Kenya agricultural and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO) appointed her as a director of knowledge management, and after five years she transferred the same services to the Ministry of Agriculture, national office. With a PhD in planting breeding from the university of kwa Zulu Natal, RSA; MSc in plant pathology from the university of Nairobi, she has been involved in undertaking research both in the field and laboratory. To further sharpen her skills, she has attended several in-service courses and workshops consequently publishing widely in peer reviewed journals, book chapters and Co author of end of project publications. With strong writing and editorial skills, she has been involved as a reviewer of paper manuscripts and internal publications for external sharing and use.

Dr Makelo’s position is key in accessing and consequently transfer of technologies to diverse stakeholders within the agricultural ecosystem including policy formulation and also to advise the ministry accordingly on business opportunities, adherence to food standards and the latest technological advances.

Board Member

Frank is the Eastern Africa Markets Leader and EY Parthenon leader for EY Africa. He is responsible for leading the firm’s strategic business developing in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Ethiopia and South Sudan in line with EY’s significant investment plan and growth ambitions. He is a member of the EY Africa Sustainability Leadership Group and Chair of the Accelerating Environmental Sustainability EY Africa Board.

Frank has over 20 years of professional experience advising Investors, Shareholders, Boards, CEOs and Government Executives on Strategy, M&A, Governance and Transformation. Prior to joining EY in East Africa, he was based in London (UK) for 15 years advising Investment Banks, Hedge Funds, Private Equity firms and global multinationals in UK, US, Russia and Africa. He previously held Executive roles at Deutsche Bank, UBS Investment Bank and PwC in UK.

Frank holds Executive Management qualifications on Strategy from MIT (US), is a CPA and holds a Bachelor of Law degree

Board Member, Founder

Mary Ngechu is a Social Entrepreneur, Woman in Manufacturing, Environmental Ambassador, and Mentor. She is involved in various activities that include the Managing director of Line Plast Group of companies, Chair of Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM) Women in Manufacturing, and Chair of the SME club at the Kenya Private Sector Association (KEPSA). She is also a member of the Board of Directors at the East African Business Council (EABC) and Kenya PET Recycling Company (PETCO).

Mary Ngechu has a strong base of knowledge and practical experience in waste management programs/projects. She has extensive experience in leading associations, alliances, and business community teams at national, regional, and international levels. In addition, she also knows about running a successful business.

Team Lead - Finance

Titus is a highly experienced accounting, audit, tax, and Finance professional with vast experience in leading and managing financial operations of an organization and ensuring continued business growth. Meticulous with an understanding of both the internal and external environment of the organization. Areas of competency include; financial analysis, budget preparation and review, managing auditing procedures and assessing financial controls.
